This course was developed as a reference document for an introductory training course in Monitoring and Evaluation. It is intended that the course material covered will assist in building monitoring and evaluation capacity in the social sector, through the exposure of participants to seven units of training and the transfer of knowledge by these persons to others in their respective workers.
The course is aimed at providing a basic guide for the training of monitoring and evaluation. The course materials are, therefore, tailor made for a local situation, focus on the practical reality is the ground. The training content provides a general focus on the key issues in monitoring and evaluation. Although on the ground information is in abundance to substantiate every aspect of the training, the manner in which they are presented should stimulate learning rather than making participants feel out of place.
